. . . . . . . . .
(that dot dot thing was SO xia xue BUT WHATEVER!)
In case most of you didnt know already, I'm going to get BRACES. This isnt some "oh yeah i'm getting braces.. maybe... someday.. because the dentist said i should", no, this is full on "DUDE IMMA GET SUM BRACES CUS I R HAS CROOKED TOOTHS AND GOT SUM XRAYS AND MOULDINGS DONE AREDI!" Pardon my lack of skills in lolspeak.
But yeah, I've been thinking about getting braces since I was form 4, when my inner voice said "dude, you got some bad vampire teeth goin' on" I get comments about my teeth sometimes, like the random "Eh Debbie! You have tiger teeth. So nice, I also want" "Hey you got fangs!" "Wah you have dracula teeth, so cool" and the most recent one from Aris today when we were talking about my getting braces "Eh Debbie! You should dress up as a vampire wei for Halloween" and my reaction to every single one of those comments are... "I keel you" "Leave my teeth alone" "and that's a good thing? Nah you want I give you la" I dunno why I sound so hostile
Anyway, I asked my parents about getting braces done. I went to the dentist and she said that I can get braces if I wanted it. My mum was pretty unsupportive because she was super convinced that my teeth are fine, whereas my dad was pretty complacent and played the "up to you, ask your mum" card. Also, a part of me didnt want braces because I'm part chicken, part coward when it comes to pain. Like seriously, though i havent put this theory to test yet, but I'm pretty darn sure I have a low pain threshold. So i didnt exactly fight and argue my way to get braces. Plus it kinda goes against the norm right, begging for braces.
But anyway, the procrastination continued on for 2 good years when suddenly, I dunno what came over me, last Sunday during the Liverpool vs Chelsea match, I asked my dad point-blank, "Pa, can I get braces? I think I should get braces since my teeth are quite crooked" After like 2-3 seconds of him staring at my teeth, he said "mmm. Go get braces lah." "REALLY?????" "Ah, go get la."
So the discussion continued, I saw the orthodontist yesterday and got my mouldings and x-rays done. He says I dont have to extract any teeth, so WOOHOOOO. He also said that I only have to extract teeth if its necessary, but thats only after 6-9 months of wearing braces first.
and today, I got em rubber bandy separator thingies in between my teeth. All 8 of them, 4 up and 4 down. I'm having quite a hard time chewing now, because it feels like as if I have rubberband-like meat stuck in between my teeth, but I guess it just takes some getting used to. Because really, the pain is nothing compared to what braces might feel like.
Oh the fear.
Well, on the bright side of braces (no pun intended), its just like getting some extra bling bling on yer teeth. I was talking about it with Tan today while waiting for my mum to pick me up from college, and we were saying that braces are just another form of bling bling.. Or grillz.
Yeah. Grills. Imma get some griiiiiillz yo. *tips purple pimp hat*
Yuck.
Okay scratch that, I'm not getting grillz, and I'm thankful for that.
